Family Focus provides high quality mental health and substance abuse treatment services to children, adolescents, families and adults. The goal of the program is to help people resolve problems and improve the quality of their lives.
The Family Focus team offers individual, family, couples and group counseling with an emphasis on a brief, solution focused approach.
The staff are skilled in dealing with a range of child, adolescent, family (traditional and non-traditional) and adult problems including: school or job difficulties, depression and anxiety, effects of divorce, loss or family conflict, and normal family stresses.
Family Counseling
The professionals on the Family Focus team are trained to deal with the needs of the whole family, stressing the importance of family involvement in treatment. This treatment helps families improve communication and learn ways to work together.
Parent Counseling
Counseling is available to both couples and single parents to help them develop a better relationship with their children and become better parents.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is available to clients of all ages to help them grow emotionally, socially and intellectually.
Case Management Services
These services are available at Family Focus on a limited basis to help persons and families link to needed services, to advocate for persons being served and to help them become as independent as possible.
Psychiatric Services and Medications
Psychiatric assessments and consultations are available for persons served at Family Focus. Board certified or Board eligible psychiatrists assist a range of persons with a variety of disorders. The agency discourages “medication only” services. Studies show that medications are most effective when coupled with other forms of active treatment.
Speakers and Consultation
Speakers, educational workshops and consultation services are available to professional, school and community groups.
